About Benjamin's Landing
Benjamin's Landing, located in Harford County Maryland, is owned and operated by Ben and Bobbie Lowe. Ben, a dairy farmer and Bobbie, a retired school teacher have hoped to create a place totally different from any other agricultural venue. They have aspired to make an environment where visitors can enjoy the outdoors and feel a sense of accomplishment upon leaving. Visit the tent, which is really a workshop area, and create a bouquet to take home. Get a group five or more friends together for an afternoon outing. Educational workshops demonstrate practical applications of our agricultural products and encourage the sharing of ideas. This is a nonthreatening avenue to experiment and learn. Workshops are offered on topics of varying degrees hoping to strike your interest. They are open to children as well as adults. Come for an hour or two and participate in a hands-on learning experience at The Landing. Benjamin's Landing provides educational experiences for students. Each Spring area first graders are taught a bulb/seed lesson in their classroom. The lesson is used in conjunction with the existing curriculum and bulbs are planted by each student. By Mother's Day a flower is ready to take home as a gift. Upon request, lessons that enrich curriculum can be formulated. Students may learn about agriculture in the classroom or visit our classroom at The Landing for a lesson. Ben and Bobbie began a Fall and Spring Gardening Market at The Landing. Due to parking constraints and weather conditions, the Market will be held nearby in Fawn Grove. They have brought together crafters and artists with a gardening flair. If you are looking for something different to do and you don't want to travel far...Come to The Landing! |
Our Location
Fifteen raised beds are in place for your cutting pleasure with one more to complete. When visiting you will see the latest addition - trellises for hard-shelled gourds. These structures are three-dimensional and you may walk through/into them. The Landing uses some of the gourds for flower vases and others will be available to decorative painters. Hopefully, you will be able to come for a workshop or two, stop by for some flowers and watch the progress of the gourds throughout the growing season. Asparagus and strawberries will be sold in season. If your time is limited stop by our roadside stand for flowers, asparagus, strawberries, sweet corn and tomatoes during their seasons. |
